K&F Concept ND GND8 (0.9)
Today I want to talk about a special filter that I had the chance to test few days ago, I am talking about the GND8 Soft Gradient from K&F Concept.
In first place I need to mention that I did use the same graduation from other brands and in the end of the day, this one from K&F Concept it reveals it self as the best of them. The smooth transition was perfectly achieved, the colours are very neutral, they are real, you don’t need to pop up them on photoshop to have a great result.
This filter comes, as all the others from K&F Concept in a very well protected box and then, inside of an individual pouch internally covered in velvet to avoid any kind of scratch. The filter is made in a 2mm glass and is very light. The version that I tested was the 100x150mm as I use a 100mm system.
I did another shot to be processed in black & white that you can see below, and you will confirm that it looks like there is no filter on it, is really amazing…
After this test I don’t think I will find better filter than this one, the GND8 Soft Gradient has revealed to be a great filter to balance the light on your pictures. Again, I have to say K&F Concept is doing an excellent job and it looks they have a brilliant future.

K&F Concept PRO Reverse
GND8 (0.9)
I recently had the chance to try the Pro Reverse GND8 (0.9) filter from K&F Concept.
I have to say I am delighted with it. It is a glass and light filter with an amazing result. I tested it and compared it with a NISI Reverse Nano IR GND8 (0.9) and, in the end of the day, the results are very similar. I would go further and say that there is no way to identify which filter I have used as both are really good and the end results are very similar.
The very first thing I loved about the K&F Concept filter was that it comes very well packed. To start it comes with an excellent strong box which can avoid any impact in case it falls on the floor and believe me when I say it is a strong box.
Then, when you open this box you start to notice how the brand is careful with this item. The leather feel pouch is very well finished and has two magnetic dots to keep the pouch closed and avoid any problem.
The interior of the pouch is done with a kind of a very smooth velvet in order to protect the filter from any kind of scratches and dust.
I have to say that all the package was very well conceived and shows the quality and attention to detail from the brand. K&F Concept has done an excellent job here.
Like others brands, K&F Concept filters have the brand name and filter graduation on the bottom of the glass, including the size of the filter. Overall K&F Concept have done an excellent job and any customer will be pleased to have this product.
Now let us talk about the quality of the image you can achieve with this filter.
As I mentioned before, I compared it with a NISI Reverse Nano IR GND8 (0.9). It is a fair comparation as both are GND8 reverse filters. I was expecting some differences between both results as they are different brands but no. There is absolutely no difference at all… all is similar, colour and detail are equal in both pictures. As the reverse filter is a specific filter and cannot be used in any scenarios or time of the day, I had to use it with other GND and full ND filter. I can say it combines very well with any other filters form other brands and the result doesn’t change.
I am very happy with this result and I appreciate a lot the opportunity that K&F Concept provided me to test this filter.
Today I am going to write about the filters that I use, ProgreyUSA.
Lately, I have used a small group of ProgreyUSA filters and they have exceeded my expectations and given me excellent results.
I have to say that I have used other brands before and I can guarantee that ProgreyUSA is at the same, if not higher level, of some of the most known neutral density filter brands in the market.
I have spent the last days of July and the entire month of August in Portugal, in Ericeira, an area where the wind is a constant and obviously the spray from the sea something always present.
One of the very first things I notice about ProgeyUSA filters was their weight. They are light and easy to transport and use.
When they get sea spray on them, you only need to shake them a little and any water residue promptly disappears from the filter surface.
I have only been using Soft grad 0.6 and 0.9, as well as the Reverse 0.9, but they have become my top choice when it comes to filters to use for seascape and landscape photography.
The colours are incredible real and there are no sights of vignetting at the corners. I can even say that the editor can correct any vignetting easily without using any lens profile.
I am therefor amazed with the results and the finishing quality of ProgeyUSA filters material.
As I said above I have only been using
Progrey TITAN GND 0.6S
Progrey TITAN GND 0.9S
Progrey AURORA GND 0.9 Reverse
GENESIS II ND 8X
GENESIS ND 1000X
After all this I can highly and happily recommend ProgreyUSA
